The Pier - Garnish
I had actually taken this photo towards the end of last summer, but hadn’t gotten round to editing the photos from that day until last week. This was one of my first outings with the Fuji X-T1 and I really love this little camera, it is so tactile to use and with its manual dials, makes the process of taking photos very enjoyable.
I love the colours in this photo and the fact that the images coming out of this camera require very little editing, if any. Garnish, with its picturesque beaches and pier is one of the most beautiful spots I have visited. This was my second visit to Garnish Island and I had actually written a blog post previously about my first trip there earlier last summer.
The fishing boat in the picture had just docked at the pier and the fisherman was busy carrying the catch to the van that had arrived. I thought his orange trousers fitted really well into the landscape and the scene. I was there with my wife and we spent a bit of time admiring the views from the pier and we had a little photo competition of who would take the better photo at the pier. I’m not including her photo because clearly she won and I don’t want to be shown off :)
I took a dip in the bay to the left of the pier shortly after we settled on who had taken the better photo - the water there is so clear, albeit freezing cold. Such an amazing spot - can’t wait to go back for more.
